Travel to Poland Poland vs Travel to USA United States in Daejeon (3:1)

America Win In Defeat

Poland, already out of the tournament dropped the Liverpool goalkeeper for this game and fielded the strongest strike-force..... determined to try and take the Americans out with them.

Leading Goalscorers 1:0
Poland earned their first corner in the 4th minute as Emmanuel Olisadebe slammed Poland into an early lead.

Landon Donovan headed America level immediately but the goal was disallowed for an infringement.

Leading Goalscorers 2:0
The Americans couldn't believe the decision bot Poland carried on with their game and hit the second on the break. Pavel Kryszalowicz the scorer, with only 5 minutes played.

With twenty minutes gone, America were still trying to find a way back into the game.

On the half-hour mark, Brad Friedel twice denied Poland the chance to extend their lead even further.

John O'Brien tried a couple of long-range efforts just before the break..... to no avail.

Half-time: Poland 2 - United States 0

Poland attacked USA right after the re-start and Brad Friedel was called on to save at the feet of Jacek Krzynowek.

Leading Goalscorers 3:0
Marcin Zewlakow's first touch was to head in Poland's third goal; from a 66th minute corner.

A goal for South Korea, against nine-man Portugal, means that USA will still qualify ahead of Portugal..... and meet Mexico in the Second Round.

Leading Goalscorers 3:1
Landon Donovan added a consolation goal to give the US fans something more to celebrate than Portugal's departure and Friedel's penalty save.
