United States vs Portugal

Two fairly lucky goals helped Portugal back into the game but Nuno Gomes was was brought on too late to make a difference; especially as America tried to drag the game out, deep in the Portugal half, with time-wasting tactics.

South Korea vs United States

The Koreans looked as though they wanted to win this game more than America. Team USA can thank their heroic goalkeeper for the point.

Poland vs United States

Despite losing to Poland, American fans can thank South Korea for their place in the Second Round.

Knockout Stage

Mexico vs United States (Second Round)

America won the CONCACAF battle to become the only team from the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association to progress to the quarter-finals.

Germany vs United States (Quarter-final)

Team USA proved to the world that they can play football, even if they insist on calling it soccer. They also learned that the best team doesn't always win.
