Travel to Saudi Arabia Saudi Arabia vs Travel to Ireland Republic of Ireland in Yokohama (0:3)

Ireland Cruise Into The Second Round

Ireland started the match positively and never looked back.

Leading Goalscorers 0:1
Ireland took an early lead against Saudi Arabia as Robbie Keane volleyed from Gary Kelly's cross and the bouncing ball slipped through Mohammed Al-Deaya's hands - 7 mins.

Although Saudi Arabia made a few penetrating moves towards the danger zone, they generally tried to limit the damage by keeping an organised shape..... until the last five minutes of the half when they tried to force Shay Given to make an error with the slippery ball.

Half-time: Saudi Arabia 0 - Ireland 1

A 50th minute goal for ten-man Germany helps Ireland if the scores stay as they are.

Leading Goalscorers 0:2
But Ireland would rather not count on Germany and scored a second goal themselves. Gary Breen guided the ball home after Steve Staunton's free-kick was not dealt with by Saudi Arabia - 62 mins.

Leading Goalscorers 0:3
Just after Klose scores Germany's second goal, Ireland put their third past Saudi Arabia. Damien Duff, the scorer.

Final Score:
