Turkey Take The Bronze

Korea started what the locals considered to be their final and were robbed of possession as they worked the ball backwards.

Leading Goalscorers 0:1
Hakan Sukur played a neat one-two, beat Hong Myung-Bo and scored his first goal of the tournament - with only 11 seconds on the clock - and the World Cup's fastest ever goal.

Leading Goalscorers 1:1
Lee Eul-Young replied in the ninth minute, with a curling free-kick into the top right-hand corner.

Leading Goalscorers 1:2
Then Ilhan Mansiz put Turkey back in front in the 13th minute, after splitting the South Korean defence by playing a swift one-two with Hakan Sukur.

Ahn Jung-Hwan's neat play in the Turkish area forced Rustu to tip the shot over the bar, as South Korea continued to excite their fans.

Leading Goalscorers 1:3
Ilhan Mansiz combined with Hakan Sukur again to increase Turkey's lead, with a little over half an hour gone.

Half-time: South Korea 1 - Turkey 3

With an hour gone, both trainers were out of their dugouts studying the game and relaying strategies to their players.

Turkey were still very much in control although the Korean chants continued to inspire their team to attack.

The second-half never equaled the thrills of the first 45 minutes as Turkey did just enough to bring the result home and Rustu continued to impress Arsenal and Manchester United.

South Korea didn't help their cause with poor finishing, as the Korean fans sustained their screams of delight and pain.

Leading Goalscorers 2:3
Song Chong-Gug managed to stun Rustu when his long-shot deflected off Cha Doo-Ri's bottom, in injury time, for a last consolation goal that ended the game on a slight high note for the home fans.

At the final whistle, both teams joined hands, congratulated each other and applauded the supporters.

Heartwarming images were then sent around the world as the children of the Turkish players sat on their father's shoulders and wore their bronze medals with pride.
