Travel to Senegal Senegal vs Travel to Turkey Turkey in Osaka  (0:1 aet)

Turkey Meet Brazil Again

Senegal are not the France B side, and set out to prove that not only are they the best football team in Africa; but among the best in the world.

Both teams started positively, although Senegal tended to push up with too many players, allowing Turkey to catch them on the break.

Senegal scrambled a goal in the 20th minute.... but this time the linesman's offside call was correct.

Turkey's best chance came in the 27th minute, when Hakan Sukur failed totally missed Hasan Sas' inviting square ball.

Hakan Sukur missed another opportunity to slide the ball in, at the far post, after Tony Sylva failed to cut out a low cross in the 38th minute.

A minute before half-time, Omar Daf cleared Basturk's header off the line to keep the scores level after an action-packed first-half.

Half-time: Senegal 0 - Turkey 0

El Hadji Diouf's 52 minute free-kick curled over the wall.... but over the goal as well.

Substitution
Ilhan Mansiz replaced the ineffective Hakan Sukur in the 67th minute and almost chipped Tony Sylva.

The game dragged towards the end of the second-half; as if both sides were sparing  themselves for the last sprint towards a golden goal.

Extra-Time:
