(2:1) in Saint-Denis.
16th June: vs. Morocco
(3:0) in Nantes.
23rd June: vs. Norway
(1:2) in Marseilles.
Brazil topped their group despite losing the final match against
Norway.
Knockout Stage
2nd Round
27th June: vs. Chile (4:1) in Paris.
Chile were not hot enough for Brazil in the second round, although the
match was a thriller.
1/4 Finals
3rd July: vs. Denmark (3:2) in Nantes.
In the quarter-finals Brazil found themselves a goal down to Denmark
in the second minute, but the World Champions turned on the style to win 3-2.
1/2 Final
7th July: vs. Holland (1:1 aet) in Marseilles.
The semi-final against Holland was tight, but the World Champions came
through on penalties.
France 1998 World Cup Final
12th July: vs. France (0:3) in Saint-Denis.
Brazil, with Ronaldo clearly not at his best, fell apart in the final.
France became the new World Champions, after beating the Brazilians
emphatically, and end Zagallo's run of World Cup winning involvement.
