the world famous backdrop of Edinburgh
Castle.

The Swiss National Day, celebrated on August 1st, is known as the Bundesfeier in German, Fête nationale suisse in French, Festa nazionale svizzera in Italian, and Festa naziunala svizra in Romansh.
The date was chosen because it commemorates the Federal Charter of 1291, dated 'at the beginning of the month of August', and considered one of the most important founding documents of Switzerland.
