On June 8th, 2005 Argentina
joined the four Asian teams to be among the first to
qualify for the 2006 World Cup Finals in Germany.

CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, OFC, UEFA.
CONMEBOL Qualification for the World Cup Finals in Germany 2006.
Ten South American countries compete on a league basis, playing each
other home and away, with the top four qualifying for the 2006 World Cup Finals
automatically.
The fifth placed team then faces a two-legged play-off - with the winner of the Oceania region.
