Getting Around Niigata

By Air


Flights from Seoul take around 2hr 15mins, from Xi'an via Shanghai (6hrs 15mins), from Harbin (1hr 55mins), from Guam (3hrs 40mins), from Honolulu (6hrs 25mins) and from Vladivostok (1hr 20 mins).


Osaka (1hr 10mins), Nagoya (55mins), Sapporo (1hr 10mins), Fukuoka (1hr 35mins) and Hiroshima (1hr 45mins).

Getting to Niigata Airport

The Bus Center - JR Niigata Station - Airport route takes about 25mins. and costs 350 yen. Buses leave the Bus Center twice an hour between 6:45 and 18:20.

Buses from the airport run between 9:30 and 20:20.

Taxis from JR Niigata Station take around 20 mins and cost about 3,000 yen.

By Train

The Joetsu Shinkansen super-express train from Tokyo takes around 1hr 40mins.

By Road

Driving on the Kan-etsu Expressway from Tokyo takes around 4 hours.

Niigata by Bus

Buses are a lot slower than the trains - Tokyo (5hrs), Osaka (9hrs 30mins), Sendai (4hrs).
