On June 25th, the President of the Federal Republic of Austria, Kurt Waldheim,
visited The Pope.
The Pope needs a holiday too, and where better to go than the clear air
of the Dolomites. Pope John Paul II made the journey from July 8th to July 14th, visiting Lorenzago di Cadore.

Pope John Paul II travelled to North America from September 10th
to September 21st, visiting Miami, Columbia, New Orleans, San Antonio, Phoenix, Los
Angeles, Monterey, Carmel, San Francisco (where he met with AIDS patients at Mission Dolores Basilica and embraced a
little boy called Brendan) and Detroit before flying on to Edmonton and Fort
Simpson (Canada).
