From September 11th to September 14th, a weakened Pope John Paul II
travelled to Bratislava, Trnava, Banska Bystrica, Kosice and Roznava (Slovakia).

Cheered in Slovakia:
Tens of thousands of people turned out to cheer the Pope as he arrived for an open-air
mass on a hillside near Roznava.
On October 7th, Pope John Paul II made a pilgrimage to the shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary of
Pompeii (before the end of the Year of the Rosary).
25th Anniversary
Mass:
Pope John Paul II celebrated his 25th anniversary mass in October 2003.
The
Beatification of Mother Teresa of Calcutta (who died on September 5th, 1997) took
place on October 19th.
On June 4th, President George W. Bush met Pope John
Paul II in The Vatican, for the second time and their fourth meeting in total.

will remain in the hands of millions as the final memory of a man who touched so many, on
his tireless voyage around the world, and left in them a part of his identity.
The one place Pope John Paul always wanted to visit was a
Communist-free, Russia.
