Netherlands vs Romania
in Berne.
Tuesday, 17th June at 20.45
Holland have already won Group
C. If Romania win here, then France and Italy are out. Romania will also qualify if
both games are a draw.
As usual, Romania started the game just happy not to concede a goal.
But as news of Italy's goal in Zurich reach the Romanian players,
they'll know that a draw won't be good enough and they'll have to start thinking about
taking the game to the Dutch - if they can.
Half-time - 0:0
The game in Berne was held up so that the match started the same time
as the delayed one in Zurich.
Romania needed to score but it was Holland who took the lead, through
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
Three minutes from time, Robin Van Persie wrapped it up for Holland.
Credit to the Dutch, they didn't throw the game to avoid a possible
meeting with France or Italy in the semi-final.
