Germany

Poland

The Klagenfurt stadium is small and the fans are close to the pitch.

Ignoring what the tabloid media in Germany and Poland try to imply, let's hope for a great atmosphere. It's about time Poland got a result against Germany and considering Germany's record in the European Championships, they might even be able to profit from a little Deutsche self-doubt.

Germany came out of the trap showing their offensive intentions, but Miroslav Klose should have gone on his own instead of laying off to Mario Gomez.

Poland played their defence too high up the pitch in the first twenty minutes, and despite a few early warnings were punished on the 20th minute, when Miroslav Klose and Lukas Podolski broke through on their own.

Lukas Podolski burst into tears when he fired Germany into the lead, against the country of his birth.

Half-time - 1:0

Podolski doubled the pain for the Polish fans with his second goal, midway through the second half, as Poland really had no answer to Germany's attacking threat.

Final Score:
Germany 2 - Poland 0
