Kyle Walker's pace down the right was astounding, the cross into the middle ricocheted a little, but Harry Kane was there to score his 64th goal for England.

All the good work was undone when, instead of pushing on for a second, sloppy England passing, a failure to press Denmark, and lazy defensive positioning resulted in Sporting Lisbon's Morten Hjulmand seeing the opportunity for a long range effort; in off the post past Jordan Pickford.

The hosts thought they took the lead in the 17th minute through Robert Andrich, but an official look at the big screen ruled the goal out; as Jamal Musiala had crashed into Swiss defender Michel Aebischer during the build-up.

Switzerland almost made it two just before the end; but Ruben Vargas was flagged for offside: tight, but right.
