Aquatics
Athletes used a lake for the swimming events.
Boxing
First introduced as an Olympic sport in St. Louis, boxing was also a
part of the Ancient Olympic Games.
Wrestling
As wrestling was rapidly re-inventing itself across the United States
and Great Britain, Freestyle Wrestling was added to Greco-Roman wrestling as an Olympic
event. Instead of just using the upper body, as in Greco-Roman wrestling, wrestlers in the
freestyle event could also use their legs for pushing, lifting and tripping.
