ceremony on Sunday, August 24th.
Preliminary football matches will already have been played on August
6th and 7th.
Aquatics
The swimming event will be held at the National Aquatics Center
in the Olympic Green from August 9th-24th.
The 10km-marathon swimming event for men and women will be held at Shunyi Olympic
Rowing-Canoeing Park.
The water polo event for men and women will be held at Ying Tung Natatorium;
with the finals on August 21st and 24th.
Archery
The archery event will be held at the Olympic Green Archery
Field from August 9th-15th.
Athletics
The athletics event will be held in Beijing from August 15th-24th; at
the National Stadium
in the Olympic Green.
The starting point of the marathon event is at Tiananmen Square with
the finish line in the National Stadium; while the walking event starts and finishes at
the National Stadium, for a round trip on a 2km course at the boulevard in the Olympic
Green.
Badminton
The badminton event will be held at the Beijing University of
Technology Gymnasium from August 9th-17th.
Baseball
The baseball event will be held at the Wukesong Baseball Field
in Beijing from August 13th-23rd.
Basketball
The basketball event will be held at Wukesong Indoor Stadium
in Beijing from August 9th-24th.
Boxing
The boxing event will be held at the Workers' Indoor Arena
in Beijing from August 9th-24th.
Canoeing
The canoe/kayak events will be held at the Shunyi Olympic
Rowing-Canoeing Park on the side of Chaobai River in the Shunyi District of Beijing
from August 11th-23rd.
Cycling
BMX was added to the Olympic Games in Beijing.
The cycling events will be held from August 9th-23rd.
Laoshan venues, in the Shijingshan District of Beijing, will be the
scene for track (Laoshan
Velodrome), mountain bike (Laoshan Mountain Bike
Course) and BMX (Laoshan
Bicycle Moto Cross Venue); while road cycling will be held at the Urban Road Cycling Course.
Equestrian
The equestrian events will be held in Hong Kong from
August 9th-20th; with the jumping and dressage events held at the main venue in Shatin and
the cross country competition at Beas River.
Fencing
The fencing event will be held at the Fencing Hall, in the
National Convention Center on the Olympic Green, from August 9th-17th.
Football
The football competitions will be held from August 6th-23rd, in five
cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Shenyang and Qinhuangdao.
The finals for men and women will be held in Beijing where three
venues are located: the Workers' Stadium, the
Olympic Sports Center
Stadium and the National
Stadium.
The venues outside Beijing are: Shanghai Stadium, Tianjin Olympic Center
Stadium, Shenyang
Olympic Sport Center Stadium and Qinhuangdao Olympic
Sports Center Stadium.
Gymnastics
The gymnastics event will be held in Beijing from August 9th-24th;
with the artistic gymnastics and trampoline competitions taking place at the National Indoor Stadium
and the rhythmic gymnastics at the Beijing University of
Technology Gymnasium.
Handball
The handball event will be held in Beijing from August 9th-24th. The
preliminary competitions will be held at the Olympic Sports Center
Gymnasium and the finals at the National Indoor
Stadium.
Hockey
The hockey event will be held at the Olympic Green Hockey
Field (two pitches) in Beijing from August 10th-23rd.
Judo
The judo event will be held at the University of Science and
Technology Beijing Gymnasium from August 9th-15th.
Modern Pentathlon
The Modern Pentathlon event will take place at the Fencing Hall, Ying Tung Natatorium
and Olympic Sports
Center Stadium on August 21st and 22nd.
Rowing
The rowing event will be held at Shunyi Olympic
Rowing-Canoeing Park on the side of Chaobai River in Shunyi District of Beijing from
August 9th-17th.
Sailing
The sailing event will be held at Qingdao Olympic
Sailing Center from August 9th-21st.
Shooting
The shooting event will be held at Shijingshan District's Beijing Shooting Range
Hall and Beijing
Shooting Range CTF from August 9th-17th.
Softball
The softball event will be held at the Fengtai Softball Field
in Beijing from August 12th-21st.
Table Tennis
The table tennis event will be held at the Peking University
Gymnasium from August 13th-23rd.
Taekwondo
The taekwondo event will be held at University of Science and
Technology Beijing Gymnasium from August 20th-23rd.
Tennis
The tennis event will be held at the Olympic Green Tennis
Center in Beijing from August 10th-17th.
Triathlon
The triathlon event will be held at a scenic area of the Ming Tomb Reservoir in Changping
District of northern Beijing from August 18th-19th.
The main venue is near the big dam of the reservoir.
Swimming will be held on the reservoir while cycling and running will
be held on the big dam and the road section south of the dam.
Volleyball
The volleyball event will be held in Beijing from August 9th-24th.
The preliminary competitions will be held at the Capital Indoor Stadium
and Beijing Institute
of Technology Gymnasium and the finals will be held at the Capital Indoor Stadium.
The beach volleyball competitions will be held at the Chaoyang Park Beach
Volleyball Ground from August 9th-22nd.
Weightlifting
The weightlifting event will be held at the Beijing University of
Aeronautics and Astronautics Gymnasium from August 9th-19th.
Wrestling
The wrestling event will be held at China Agriculture
