When Pierre deCoubertin announced (on 25th November, 1892) his intention to restore the

the first nations to fully support his initiative. The New Zealand Olympic Committee was
founded in Wellington on 18th October, 1911 and recognised by the IOC in Lausanne on 5th
April, 1919.
