Kern County is the gateway
to Southern California, the San Joaquin Valley and California’s High Desert.
Located north of Los Angeles, the Kern River attracts many whitewater
enthusiasts to Kern County but there's more to do here than negotiate fast-moving water.
The county seat of Kern County is Bakersfield.
Visit Kern:
Kern's desert is home to the awe-inspiring Red Rock Canyon State Park and the living ghost
town of Randsburg.

Shafter
Shafter is home to Minter Field,
which began operations in June 1941 and saw heavy use during World War II.
Wasco
Wasco is conveniently located
in central California. A short two-hour drive will take you to the Pacific ocean beaches,
the giant redwoods in the Sequoia mountains, or the Los Angeles area and many more of
California’s destination spots.
