Innsbruck - Bridging the River Inn

Best Western Hotel Goldener Adler:
Herzog-Friedrich-Strasse 6, Innsbruck.

Best Western hotels come in all shapes and sizes and the Hotel Goldener Adler is one of the best Best Western hotels we've stayed in. There's only 33 rooms, so book early.

The history associated with this hotel - take a look at the marble plaque outside for a list of the famous people who've stayed here - is amazing.

The Hotel Goldener Adler (located in the old town, close to the River Inn) has been a part of the Innsbruck scene since 1390 and considering it has hosted kings and queens, writers, composers (we stayed in the Mozart room) and leading politicians, over the centuries, the price is very reasonable.

The Hotel Goldener Adler is family-run and the son paid great attention to detail, even personally bringing the first beers to our table. The menu was of an excellent standard and the 'people watching' from the outside tables is entertainment in itself.

In the morning, the breakfast buffet was substantial and set us up for a good day of sightseeing. I highly recommend this hotel if you're looking for something special in Innsbruck.

Grand Hotel Europa: Sudtiroler Platz 2, Innsbruck.
The traditions of the past are combined with all conveniences of the present day. The result is an atmosphere which has captivated prominent guests from all over the world.

Best Western Hotel Neue Post: Maximilianstrasse 15, Innsbruck.
Located in the centre of Innsbruck - opposite the main post office and only a couple of minutes walking distance from the historical old town, the main shopping street Maria Theresia, the Casino and the railway station - the Best Western Hotel Neue Post is also an ideal starting point for excursions into the surrounding areas of Innsbruck.

Innsbruck Hotel: Innrain 3, Innsbruck.
Built on historic ground, the Hotel Innsbruck stands on the foundation wall of the castle that once belonged to the counts of Andechs; who founded the city of Innsbruck in the 12th century. All the sights of the city can easily be visited on foot from the hotel.

Kitzbuhel - Ski the Famous Austrian Downhill

Hotel Tennerhof: Griesenauweg 26, Kitzbuhel.
The original manor, dating back to 1670, has been luxuriously restored in true Austrian Alpine-style with family heirloom furniture. All rooms and suites have a different layout and colour scheme; some with fireplace, balcony and poster beds.

Lech Am Arlberg - The Gstaad of Austria

Kristiania Lech: Omesberg 331, Lech am Arlberg.
Unique location facing the breath-takingly beautiful scenery of Lech and the mountains. Within easy reach of the centre and the ski slopes, next to the cross-country ski track.

Linz - Historic Town

Capital of Upper Austria.

City Hotel: Schillerstrasse 52, Linz.
First class hotel situated in the heart of Linz. Welcoming atmosphere with the Austrian touch of friendly and hospitable service.

Spitz Hotel: Karl Fiedlerstrasse 6, Linz.
Located in a quiet location, opposite the new city hall, at Nibelungen Bridge. Just a few minutes to downtown shopping and business areas. Guests can enjoy a large buffet breakfast in the morning and dine in the gourmet restaurant, Paladino.

Steigenberger Hotel Linz: Am Winterhafen 13.
Close to the motorway (Ring Road) exit at the back end of Linz, the hotel's location is right on the Danube. You'll probably need a taxi to get here, if you travel by train, but you won't be disappointed; especially when you can eat outside in the summer. Awesome breakfast buffet.

Salzburg - City of Mozart

Bristol Hotel: Makartplatz 4, Salzburg.
Traditional five-star hotel in the centre of the festival city, between the Mirabell Gardens and Mozart's residence, and within five minutes walking distance to the famous Getreidegase.

Hotel Goldener Hirsch: Getreidegasse 37, Salzburg.
In the baroque centre of Salzburg, the Hotel Goldener Hirsch is testimony to half a millennium of European cultural heritage. Personally run hotel, rich in tradition. Guest rooms and suites preserve the romantic charms of a fifteenth century inn.

Hotel Sacher Salzburg: Schwarzstrasse 5-7, Salzburg.
Salzburg's 'Grand Hotel' sits on the quiet Salzach Promenade and offers an impressive view of the Fortress Hohensalzburg.

Vienna - Capital City

Austria Trend Europa Hotel: Kaerntner Strasse 18, Vienna.
Located in Vienna's historical city centre, between the State Opera and St. Stephan's Cathedral, the Austria Trend Hotel Europa Vienna underwent a complete renovation in 2002. Only 5 minutes walk from St. Stephan's Cathedral and convenient for luxurious shopping on Kaerntner Strasse - or just look in the shop windows.

Hotel Sacher: Philharmonikerstrasse 4, Vienna.
Something of a tradition in Vienna, the Hotel Sacher (founded in 1876) is situated opposite the Viennese State Opera in the heart of Vienna's cultural and historical centre. A few minutes walk from museums, the Hofburg, the Spanish Riding School and across the famous Ringstrasse, the Hotel Sacher is a favourite meeting place for Vienna's High Society, artists, and politicians. The hotel has recently been lovingly refurbished with luxury materials deserving of such a historical masterpiece.
