Maori Memorial
Located inside the Messines Ridge British Cemetary is a plaque to the Maori Battalion.
There's also a memorial to the New Zealand soldiers who fell in or near Messines in 1917 and 1918 and whose graves are known only to God.
This is one of seven memorials to the officers and men of New Zealand who died on the Western Front without a known grave.
Messines Ridge British Cemetery
Messines Ridge British Cemetery is located 10km south of Ieper on the Nieuwkerkestraat, outside Mesen.
The Battle for Messines Ridge began on 7th June 1917.
