Denmark and the Czech
Republic are both out of Euro2000 and will
only be playing for pride.
Denmark haven't scored a goal
in their previous two games, against France and Holland, and have let in six; three in
each game. Peter Schmeichel intends to continue his international career after Euro96, but
if he lets in three again perhaps he should think about calling it a day; for the sake of
Denmark.
The Czechs, by contrast, have
had seemingly close matches against both the hosts and the current World Champions. Would
things have been different had Patrik Berger not been suspended for the opening two
matches -- for a sendng-off against the Faeroe Islands -- or if one of the opening games
was at least against Denmark?
We'll see tonight just how good the Euro96
runners-up are when the match means nothing.

The Match:
Denmark will be remembered as the team with no goals and no points in Euro2000.
The Danes may think Norway are boring, but at
least the Norwegians scored a goal and earned 4 points.
The Czech Republic scored the only goal of the
game in the 62nd minute. Smicer scoring from
Poborsky's cross.
Result:
Denmark 0 -- Czech Republic 1
