Hernandez and company left it late to qualify from this group and can thank South Korea for sending a life boat to the Bay of Mexico.

When the Koreans equalized in the 71st minute against Belgium, it was like a psychological goal for Mexico who then clawed back a two goal deficit to draw with Holland.

For almost an hour they were not in the tournament, let alone the game.

The game plan changed in the second round, and they actually took the lead. Those aging Germans didn't retire and that was the end of the Blanco hop.
