Commemorating the centenary of the 1914-1918 Great War, Travel Pics remembers.

Maori Memorial

Located inside the Messines Ridge British Cemetary is a plaque to the Maori Battalion.

There's also a memorial to the New Zealand soldiers who fell in or near Messines in 1917 and 1918 and whose graves are known only to God.

This is one of seven memorials to the officers and men of New Zealand who died on the Western Front without a known grave.
