 The capital of Italy is
a major tourist destination; because it's Rome.
Rome Travel Tips
I would recommend wandering through the
streets of Trastevere (just across the River) and enjoying the market stalls and wine bars
before stopping for a meal in one of the many great restaurants. (Remember rule of thumb
is there are Italians eating there it must be pretty good).
The back streets around Piazza Navona are also
excellent. Try to stay away from eating in the Piazza itself as it is expensive and not
necessarily that good. Save the Piazza for a stroll later while you are eating your gelato
and watching the buskers.

Gelato
If you've come to Italy and haven't stuffed
your face with 12 different types of gelato, then you haven't been to Italy.
Our cool tips: Gelateria Giolitti (via Uffici
del Vicario, 40) is a Roman institution. It used to deliver marrons glace flavoured gelato
to Pope John Paul II. La Fontana Della Salute in Trastevere (Via Cardinale Marmaggi 2-6)
puts a smile on the face of every lactose intolerant human being by offering a vast
selection of soy and yoghurt based flavours.
