Las Vegas Travel Tips

Just a short drive from Las Vegas is a state park of unusual natural beauty.

Valley of Fire State Park is described in the visitor centre film 'It's as if the earth opened up and revealed a small piece of its soul'. To us it looked like bright flames of stone were leaping from the ground. A Star Trek movie was filmed here.

Drive to the park through Lake Mead National Recreation Area, via the North Shore Road and not from the interstate, even though you must pay a small fee to enter. The scenery and lookouts on the North Shore Road should not be missed.
